The Japanese corporation Toyo Tire opened a car tire factory in Inđija, in which it invested 382 million euros.

The factory will produce 5 to 10 million tires of premium class a year for the markets of Europe, Middle East, Africa and North America. The factory in Indjija, in which 560 workers are employed, is the first greenfield investment of Toyo Tire in Serbia, but also the entire Europe, in which the Toyo Tires and Nitto brand will be produced.

That is also the biggest Japanese investment in Serbia so far.

Innovative technologies will be implemented in the factory in Inđija in the work process, with compliance with the highest world standards in the protection of the environment and energy efficiency.

The plan is for the export from Inđija, as announced when the construction of the factory began in December 2020, to be at the level of 240 million euros a year.

The Municipality of Inđija has provided land of 63 ha and the necessary infrastructure.

The opening ceremony was attended by the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, the CEO at Toyo Tire Corp, Takashi Shimizu, and the ambassador of Japan to Serbia, Takahiko Katsumata, reports ekapija.com.

The corporation Toyo Tire is one of the leading world producers of tires for more than 70 years, with seven tire factories and four car part factories, as well as nearly 13,000 employees worldwide.
