In the first quarter of this year, the most expensive square meter of a newly built apartment in Novi Sad cost more than 3,000 euros, while the price of a square meter in an old building reached 2,720 euros.

According to the data of the Republic Geodetic Authority, 189.9 million euros were traded on the real estate market in Novi Sad in this period.

Compared to the same period in 2022, there was an increase in sales in Novi Sad by 332 contracts (13.7 percent). Based on the collected data from sales contracts, 12 percent of real estate was paid from credit funds, which is four percent less compared to the first quarter of 2021. Apartments are most often paid from loans.

Real estate agencies say that the price of apartments is rising in great demand, as well as that Novi Sad has proven to be excellent for investing, bizlife.com reports.

"Statistics show that the real estate market is alive and that it was not affected by the pandemic or the war in Ukraine," the director of the real estate agency from Novi Sad, Dragan Rabatic, said for Dnevnik.

According to him, the Novi Sad market is an investment market, which means that people invest in real estate that they do not need.

He also explains that there is no longer the rule that the most expensive apartments are in the city center, but the price is affected by a project that provides some additional quality of housing.

There is still the highest demand for apartments up to 40 square meters, garages, and then for those more luxurious than 100 square meters and more.
