Photo: PixabayAt today's meeting, the Government of Serbia adopted a Decision and a Rulebook which specifies the way of purchase or participation in the purchase of real estate for families who want to solve the housing issue, according to euronews.rs.
This subsidy will apply to families who have a child after January 1, 2022. The right to funds for construction, participation in the purchase, i.e. purchase of a house or apartment based on the birth of a child will differ from the place of residence of the participants in the competition.
Families in undeveloped municipalities will be able to receive up to 50% of the value of work on a house based on a technical description with a list of works, a bill of quantities, and an estimation verified by the responsible designer for the construction of a house. This will apply to citizens living in local self-government units (LGU) that have been classified as devastated areas according to the Decree on the establishment of a single list of regional and local self-government unit development for 2014.
The subsidy for house building in other municipalities will be 20% of the value of the works on the house based on the technical description with the list of works, bill of quantities, and estimation of works verified by the responsible designer.
The state will also subsidize citizens for the purchase of a house or apartment up to a maximum of 20% of the purchase price, defined by the pre-agreement on the sale of real estate and determined by the competent tax authority.
Those who want to buy a house or apartment on credit will be eligible for a subsidy of up to 20% of the estimated value of the real estate on which the loan is granted, up to a maximum of 20% of the purchase price established by the real estate purchase agreement.
The maximum amount of funds that can be approved is 20,000 euros, and the funds will be provided from the budget. A necessary condition in all cases is that the mother did not have any house or apartment in her name in the territory of Serbia until then.
The Ministry of Family Care and Demography said that marriage is not a condition for financial assistance when buying an apartment, and that applications must be submitted within a year from the day the child is born. The request for exercising the right to financial assistance for the purchase of real estate must be submitted to the competent body of the local self-government unit, the municipality, i.e. the child protection services.
The state intend to subsidize the purchase of a house or apartment for mothers who give birth after January 1, 2022, through amendments to the Law on Financial Support to Families with Children worth a total of 10 billion dinars, or around 85 million euros.
