Although real estate prices are continuously growing in Belgrade, the Serbian capital still can not be compared to world's biggest cities when it comes to prices of sqare meters, especially regarding real estate in the premium segment, which are luxuriously equipped, well secured and placed on locations that have been accessible only to wealthier customers for years.

The analysis from the end of 2021 of one of the leading global real estate consulting houses, Knight Frank, brings data on how many square meters you can buy for a million dollars.

According to the research of this consulting house, the number of square meters that can be bought for the mentioned figure varies in cities around the world.

For example, those who are determined to move to Monaco, would have to make some concessions, since it is possible to buy only 15 square meters for a million dollars.

For the same amount, you can get 21 square meters in Hong Kong, which puts it on second place on the list of the most expensive cities in the context of real estate, while in third place is London (31 square meters).

Behind are New York with 33 square meters, Singapore with 35 square meters and Geneva with 37 square meters - for a million dollars. They are followed by Sydney with 41 square meters, and then Shanghai, Paris and Los Angeles, where the prices are the same – for a million dollars, you can buy 42 residential square meters, writes Telegraf.rs.

In Beijing, for that money, you can expect an apartment of an average size, of some 56 square meters, and in Tokyo, a property of 64 square meters. Berlin (73 square meters), Miami (77 square meters) and Melbourne (84 square meters) are next in line.

Madrid, Mumbai and Dubai are solidly quoted, with 106, 108 and 137 square meters per million dollars, although it may be a surprise that the Spanish and Indian cities are more expensive than Dubai in this context. It is followed by Cape Town, with 220 square meters, and Sao Paulo with 256 square meters for a million dollars.

If we take into account that the average price of a residential square meter in our capital is close to 2,000 euros or about 2,190 dollars, that means that in Belgrade, for a million dollars, you can buy a property of around 456 square meters.
