The Public Works Administration has announced a public call for the development of a conceptual design, the main project and the execution of works on the construction of the access plateau at the location of the Dub departure station for the Kotor - Lovćen cable car. The value of the procurement is estimated at 2.3 million euros.

As it can be seen in the tender documentation, the details of which are transmitted by the Montenegrin editorial office of eKapija, the subject of the procurement is the development of the main project and construction of the access plateau at the location of the Dub cable car starting station Kotor – Lovćen, according to the principle "design and build" within the PUP Kotor.

The bids can be submitted not after June 22 by 10 am, and their opening will take place on the same day, investitor.me reports.

As stated in the urban-technical conditions, the construction of the first phase of the cable car implies the construction of four stations, namely the starting station Dub, the intermediate station Kuk and Ivanova korita, as well as the final station Cetinje. Also, in the first phase, the route of pillars and lines with a corridor width of about six meters is planned.

The starting station Dub is located in Grbaljsko polje, approximately 200 meters from the road Budva - Tivat and about 500 meters from the airport, at 65 meters above sea level. The complex of the starting station occupies an area of approximately 12,600 square meters, of which about 1,600 square meters are under the building, 5,000 square meters is intended for parking capacity of 30 buses, and 6,000 square meters for parking passenger cars.

The project needs to plan additional space for ancillary facilities that will make this location more attractive to tourists. The station building will have a ground floor and a first floor, and the gross construction area will be approximately 2,100 square meters. Within the building, it is necessary to provide space for the station (entrance-exit and transfer), information desk with cash register, hall, office space, warehouse, locker rooms for staff, staff toilet, public toilet, shop and gondola depot.

Kuk Interstation is located on the Kuk Plateau at 1,350 meters above sea level. The floor of the station is the ground floor and will have an area of approximately 600 square meters. Within the building, it is necessary to provide space for the station (entrance-exit and transfer), information desk with cash register, hall, office space, warehouse, locker rooms and staff toilet, public toilet, shop, power relay and transformer.

The Ivanova Korita interstation is located in the very center of the Lovćen National Park at 1,265 meters above sea level. It is about 400 meters from the main road and about 200 meters from the hotel. The number of floors of the building is the ground floor, and the area is about 1500 square meters. A station (entrance-exit and transfer), a hall, office premises, a warehouse, locker rooms and a toilet for staff, a public toilet, a shop, a power relay and a transformer are planned within the building.

This station has the function of a central crossroads, ie it ends with two cable car routes - one coming from Kotor and the other coming from Cetinje. Also, the third route that will lead to Njegoš's mausoleum is planned in perspective. Therefore, this function of the station should be taken into account when determining the capacity of space and passengers, which directly affect the size of the station, but because it is located in NP Lovćen, must take strict care that its size, shape and appearance fit into the natural ambience.

The location for the departure station in Cetinje is located directly next to the planned protected zone of Cetinje. In order not to disturb this location - the park and the open-air theater, the station will be placed about 1.50 meters below the surface. In this way and along the embankment towards the park, a large part of the base station essentially disappears into the field. Only the top of the roof remains visible as a horizontal line. To make it even less visible, the roof of the station will be covered with a layer of grass. In addition, the axis of the cable car cable (length and height) is set so that it does not disturb the open stage.

The tracing of pillars and lines needs to be designed so that as few forests as possible are cut down, in order to avoid degradation of the ambient whole, habitats and certain species of animals.

The envisaged type of cable car is a folding gondola with six or eight seats for easy boarding and disembarking, which is in general use at ski resorts and tourist resorts. This system allows the gondola to travel through the terminals at very low speeds, before accelerating to 6 meters per second. The number of carriers varies according to requirements.

The length of route 1 and route 2 individually would be about 7.5 kilometers, or 15 kilometers in total. The cable car system can be of the same type on route 1 from Ivanova korita to Kotor, and on route 2 from Cetinje to Ivanova korita. This enables cost-effective construction, maintenance and saves inventory. The station on Ivan's riverbeds would function as a crossroads of two cableway routes, one coming from Kotor, ie Dub, and the other from Cetinje.

The urban project also states that the construction and arrangement of tourist traffic points is necessary in the zones of the initial stations of the cable car, in order to improve the cultural-historical and natural values of the area. These checkpoints would have parking lots for buses and cars, cable cars, tourist and catering facilities, information and tourist centers and the like.

“The tourist-traffic point should function as a "transfer" point, ie the area where tourists come by bus or passenger car, and then continue their journey through the Lovćen National Park by cable car. Their construction is planned in Cetinje and Ivan's riverbeds“, it is explained in the documentation.
