The new 40,000-square-meter office building, Vilharia, which is going to start being constructed in Ljubljana in the autumn, will be the greenest building of its kind in Slovenia, as evidenced by a LEED Platinum pre-certificate recently awarded to Slovak investor and developer Corwin, according to the property-forum.eu portal. This means that the project fulfils the strictest energy efficiency, economy and user wellbeing criteria.

“Innovative sustainable measures and a smaller environmental footprint should be important factors for any 21st-century company. Lower water consumption, lower carbon footprint, higher energy efficiency and employee health and wellbeing are core to the LEED certification as well as Corwin philosophy. With a highly advanced sustainable urban vision, Ljubljana offers itself as a home to organizations that already follow the ESG guidelines. With its sustainable design and LEED Platinum certification, we aim to create an unparalleled green business hub in Vilharia,” Michal Maco, Country Manager at Corwin, points out.

The Vilharia office building is a 40 000 sqm complex of modern, green offices that will be in accordance with sustainable planning, construction and maintenance. It will revitalize the neglected area in the centre of Ljubljana between Vilharjeva cesta and the railway line, located between Situla and the future Emonika. The project was designed for Corwin by the Danish architectural firm Schmidt Hammer Lassen (SHL), which has already signed on to some of the world’s cultural landmarks between Copenhagen and Shanghai.

Construction is set to begin in October, and the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
