The metro, seven bridges, the suburban railway, and 100 new parks are among the projects that will be used to trace the capital's path over the next eight years. The City Assembly accepted the strategic development plan until 2030, on which the city administration, professions, and non-governmental groups collaborated over the preceding 15 months, according to novosti.rs.

The metro, whose second line, 42 kilometers long and with 44 stops, would be completed by 2030, is the first project, according to the officials. During the strategic plan's implementation, the plan calls for the building of 235 kilometers of suburban trains with 500 daily departures. As a result, with the exception of Grocka, all suburban communities will be connected to the city, with departures evry 10, 12, and 15 minutes.

According to the strategic plan presented at the meeting, we will have seven new bridges by 2030, two on the Danube and two pedestrian and cycling bridges, Ada Ciganlija - New Belgrade and Zemun - Lido. In addition, two new BG trains are planned, one between Surčin and Obrenovac and the other in the city center, both of which are important for the city's function, as well as the New Bridge on Sava.

Two more tunnels are expected to be built in the next eight years. One will be in Karadjordjeva Street, which will run from the Faculty of Economics to the Pančevo Bridge, and the other will be Topčider Tunnel, which will run from the Ada Bridge to Autokomanda. A public bike system and more than 150 kilometers of bike paths are also part of the proposal. Also, we will not have any fossil-fuel vehicles in public transportation by 2030.

According to the authorities' claims, the Line Park, the reconstruction of the Terazije plateau, and 100 new parks will form the backbone of the plan.

The City Assembly's work with the University of Belgrade, particularly the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, as well as non-governmental organizations, citizens' associations, and individuals, resulted in the development program for Belgrade from 2020 to 2030, as stated at the meeting.
