Several sources confirmed to portal Vijesti that the first racket in the world said that an investment of more than 300 million euros is planned.
Đoković came to Montenegro at the end of January, in order to see the potentials of the Mrčevo polje location. The sources of the portal claim that he also informally met with the legal representatives of the non-governmental organization (NGO) Jaz - Mrčevo polje, which gathers more than 600 Grbljani, owners of 2.2 million m2 of land in the hinterland.
Đokovic allegedly spoke with them over a dinner in the ethno-village of Marko Carević, the mayor of Budva, in the Grbalj village of Krimovica. Vijesti portal found out that Đoković stated he represents one of the top investment funds interested in building a golf course.
According to multiple sources, he also stated that several countries, from Serbia to Africa, are interested in attracting investors, and that the project's overall budget surpasses 300 million euros.
Representatives of that NGO allegedly pointed out to Đoković that there are still property-law issues regarding the land, and that he should make contact with the state. The source of the portal claims that they said that they are ready to support the project.
