The City of Belgrade announced a public presentation of a conceptual solution for the construction of a film studio in Krnjača. The investor is the company City Media Park doo, and the project and conceptual design was done by the project bureau Architonic, according to ekapija.com.

The construction of the film studio complex is planned on the site once belonging the construction company Trudbenik gradnja, now mostly abandoned and neglected, covering an area of 12.91 hectares.

The plan is to convert, reconstruct and upgrade the existing as well as construct new facilities, in two phases.

As stated in the conceptual design document, the plan calls for establishing film studios catering the needs of the movie industry, with accompanying content in the form of workshops, locker rooms, warehouses, dressing rooms and accommodation for actors.

“The type and scope of planned content and services, as well as standards in terms of acoustic comfort, recording comfort, available movie sets and accompanying content, are all in accordance with the relevant standards of global film production, thus establishing this complex as a reference point in Serbia and the region“, the conceptual design document outlines.

The film studio will have 12 different movie sets in several halls on approximately 3,500 m2 of usable area. The dimensions of the hall are planned without internal constructive elements, in order to enable complete flexibility in the organization of various film sets.

The northwest side of the complex should house an office building with additional facilities in the form of amphitheaters, as well as exhibition, multimedia and presentation halls.

Within the complex, facilities for rest, relaxation and dining in the form of restaurants and pizzerias are planned, as well as an outdoor pool for the purpose of underwater filming. The catering facility will cover 2,528 m2, and the cafeteria will cover 202 m2.

A total of 429 parking spaces are planned.

The project calls for the supply of all buildings with thermal energy through the use of air-cooled heat pumps.
