Luxury travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler has published a list of the best places in the world for a destination wedding.

After the measures regarding the coronavirus pandemic were eased, weddings became more and more frequent. There are many ideal places to get married in the world, from magical estates and beautifully decorated romantic wooden halls to countless hotels with large dance floors.

Some couples want a big traditional one the weddingothers, on the other hand, want a more intimate celebration, and there are also couples who want to travel with their loved ones and have a destination wedding.

On the Condé Nast Traveler list, there are various countries around the world that offer something special, something worth packing a suitcase and traveling for. In their collection of favorite wedding locations, there is also one city in Croatia – Split.

“Croatia is fast becoming one of the most popular wedding destinations, thanks to its proximity to the UK, beautiful coastline and historic districts with old honey-coloured stone centers and vibrant culture.

And although you can find magical wedding venues scattered across the islands and the mainland, Split rises above the parapet as one of the most prominent wedding destinations in this area, and it’s easy to see why,” reads the beginning of their explanation of why Split is ideal for a destination wedding.

 “The lively coastal town, which stretches for kilometers along the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea, has long attracted visitors thanks to its globally famous events, but those who want to get married in Split are looking for a taste of its extraordinary personality, zest for life and architecture that is tied to tradition” , they added.

Among the locations in Split and its surroundings, they highlighted the terrace of Meštrović Gallery, which offers a view of the sea and the islands of Šolta, Brač, Hvar and Vis.

“Numerous churches are integrated into the surrounding landscape, and post-wedding dining takes place at tables scattered across perfectly manicured lawns. You’ll also find plenty of hotels within the city ideal for smaller celebrations,” they wrote. According to them, the best period for a destination wedding in Split is the months of May and June and September and October, when there are not so many crowds and tourists, reports bizlife.rs.

Among other destinations around the world in their article, they highlighted Lake Como in Italy, Santorini in Greece, the Scottish Islands, Ibiza, Cape Winelands in South Africa, Provence in France, Marrakesh and the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, Bali and Lake Bled in Slovenia.
