The jump in energy prices will bring an increase in the number of tourists from northern Europe to warmer destinations. The data will be known in a few months, in the spring, when the data on the number of energy tourists will be processed.

The new category of travelers are residents of EU countries and from the north of the continent, who, due to the energy crisis their countries are facing, pay more to spend the winter abroad than to pay for heating at home, writes biznisuregionu.com.

MORE EXPENSIVE GAS BILL FROM THE ARRANGEMENT

Due to the increase in gas and electricity bills, Great Britain advises its citizens to spend the coming winter months in warmer areas. Some calculations are that for the winter season, the average cost of heating will be around 20 pounds per day.

On the other hand, tour operators advertise with offers for closer destinations that include air tickets, so a day's cost in a hotel in a sunny destination can cost from £20 to £25 per day.

HIT DESTINATION FOR ENERGY TOURISTS CANARY

Representatives of the tourism industry of Greece, Spain, and the Canary Islands are already running campaigns highlighting the mild climate and the number of sunny days.

The Greek government will launch a Europe-wide campaign worth several million euros with the slogan "Do you want to feel 20 again?" Greece is the right place for that."

The British media also reports the statements of Spanish tourism officials that "a stay in Spain is not only more pleasant during the winter due to the favorable weather conditions, but also brings savings compared to the increase in heating prices in Great Britain or Germany."

A CHANCE FOR COUNTRIES OF THE REGION

How did the tourism workers of the countries of the region find their way in the new situation?

The Montenegrin tourism industry will design an offer to attract a new category of tourists that is defined on the global stage as "energy tourists", the conclusion of the meeting held at the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro last week.

As stated in the announcement, the offer will refer to the still current target group of digital nomads from Central and Western Europe and new guests - energy tourists.

It was announced that an adequate offer will be promoted in London at the largest tourist fair WTM London, which will be held from November 7 to 9.

Representatives of hoteliers in Montenegro expect to be able to attract the following categories: the elderly and families with children who would stay for several weeks.

PROVIDE AIRLINE DEPARTURES, CAMPAIGN AND ARRANGEMENTS

"It is therefore necessary, in addition to favorable conditions for the offer of accommodation, to ensure good air connectivity", they pointed out at the meeting organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro - Board of the Association of Tourism and Hospitality.

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Economic Development and Tourism Goran Đurović with his associates, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce Nikola Vujović, representatives of the Ministry of Capital Investments, NTO, Airport of Montenegro, To Montenegro Company, Ski Resort, REGAGEN, National Parks.

In Croatia, the 10th month is traditionally good for the postseason, primarily thanks to nautical tourism, as well as guests from the surrounding countries of Central Europe: Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia. The arrival and longer stay of tourists from Germany during the winter is already being announced.
