The first prize at the recently concluded international public competition for the development of a conceptual architectural solution for a sports hall in Cetinje went to the project of Bureau 81000, an architectural firm from Podgorica that is also behind the winning solution for the new building of the Faculty of Music in Belgrade.

The authors of the work, which the expert jury rated as the best, are Ivan Jovićević and Dušan Đurović, with collaborators Denis Tahirović, Teodora Bjelić, Ksenija Gomilanović and Olivera Mirković, while collaborators on constructions were Ivan Živković and Mladen Muhadinović.

As the authors of the first-prized work explain, the idea was to create an authentic "house", rooted in the place, a nationally conscious house, a house with measure.

"The sports hall ready to remember the modern history of sports is conceived as a rampart, a fort, a fortress of sports... Roughly speaking, like a stone hall, like a stone hall" - say Bureau 81000.

Small stone houses relatively regularly arranged on the ground floor, "hide" communications and additional contents of the hall, according to the authors.

At the same time, as they add, they are the border between the outside and the inside, and they are spaced just enough to emphasize the main entrance to the hall, or "open up" the view from the stands to the tree line and the park.

"The field and the stands, the game and the roar from the stands - the vibrant zones of the hall with a high energy charge are covered with a roof panel dressed in stone." In short, a bang in the stone" - say the authors.

As further explained by Bureau 81000, the organization of movement and arrangement of contents in the hall enables a short connection of the audience to the tribunes and other desired contents.

Tribunes are placed on all four sides of the field, of which 3 sides are fixed and one side is telescopic. They are predominantly accessed by going down, while at the corridor level there are places for people with reduced mobility.

"The ring around the perimeter of the stands is bordered by a set of communications, sanitary facilities, rooms for refreshments and serving food and drinks, sales of jerseys and props" - say the authors of the architecture.

The gallery has a VIP lounge with VIP seats and a press lounge with press seats. The total capacity of the stands is 2,408 seats, of which 64 are VIP seats, 16 seats for journalists and 24 seats for people with disabilities.

"2,136 fixed seats on the stands were designed, while 272 seats were realized on the telescopic stands", explain the authors of the first prize-winning work.

From the longer stands there are views of the tree line to the west and the sports and recreation park to the east, or from the shorter stand to the access square.
