According to Goran Vesić, minister of construction, transport, and infrastructure, the direct rail connection between Belgrade and Pančevo will be restored at the beginning of the year. The Pan Voz will travel six times daily, making life easier for residents of both towns.

The agreement on passenger rail transportation, which was signed yesterday in the Government of Serbia in the presence of Minister Vesić by acting Serbia Voz director Ivan Bulajić and the mayor of Pančevo, Aleksandar Stevanović, allowed for the renewal of the Pan Voz line.

There are an increasing number of citizens of Belgrade who work in that city, as well as students and residents of Pančevo who study or work in Belgrade. That is why it was necessary to create a direct railway connection between the two cities until the implementation of the Belgrade city railway project permanently solves that problem.

Until then, six departures will be introduced on the Belgrade - Pančevo line starting next year. Trains will run on weekdays but not on weekends or holidays.

Trains will run from Pančevo to the Pančevački bridge in Belgrade with different capacities, between 450 and 600 seats, which is more than enough to meet the needs of passengers. The first train will depart on January 4, after the New Year's holidays.

The minister thanked everyone who participated in this project because it is another proof and example of how joint work, at the initiative of the mayor of Pančevo, does good things for the citizens and solves an objective problem.

The mayor of Pančevo, Aleksandar Stevanović, said that this is a historic moment for that city, which has been waiting for the re-establishment of a direct railway connection with Belgrade for more than a decade.
