OTP banka Srbija was declared the Best Bank in Serbia at the traditional annual awards ceremony of the world financial magazine The Banker.

The prestigious award was received by Predrag Mihajlović, President of the Executive Board of OTP Bank Serbia at a gala ceremony in London, which was held as part of the Global Banking Summit.

The annual awards for the best bank of the financial magazine The Banker, with almost a hundred years of business tradition within the global financial group Financial Times, are considered the market standard for excellence in banking and the most prestigious awards in the financial world.

On that occasion, Joy Macknight, the editor of this magazine, said: "The completion of such a large-scale merger in the midst of a global pandemic deserves all respect, and for this reason the award for the Best Bank in Serbia 2022 is awarded to OTP Bank." Additionally, OTP banka won this award due to its strong financial results, ESG strategy and progress made in the field of digital transformation."

When deciding on the best, financial experts and analysts compare banks' operations and evaluate success based on clearly defined criteria of market position, growth and performance, return on capital, strategic initiatives, technological development, and the quality and innovation of product and service offerings.

We managed to achieve record business results and double-digit growth in all business segments. In the first nine months of this year, OTP Bank made a profit before taxation in the amount of 92 million euros, with a return on capital of 15 percent. We additionally strengthened the position of the largest creditor of the economy and population, as well as the market leader of factoring, leasing and e-commerce services. In the same year, we received two of the most prestigious awards for the best bank in Serbia - first the Euromoney Award for Excellence 2022, and now also from The Banker magazine. I am extremely proud to say that 2022 is the most successful year in the history of OTP Group's operations in Serbia. Bearing in mind the challenging circumstances that the whole world is facing, these awards have greater significance and instill in us optimism that we are ready to welcome the next year, determined to continue to provide strong support to the economy and citizens", said Predrag Mihajlović, President of the Executive Board of OTP banka Srbija .

In addition to the recognition for the best bank in Serbia received by OTP Bank Srbija, The Banker magazine, recognizing the ambitious strategy of expansion, digital transformation and focus on clients, also awarded the parent OTP Bank in Hungary, as well as the members of the OTP Group in Bulgaria, Slovenia and Albania. This proves international expertise and a leadership position in Central and Eastern Europe.

On the last day of September 2022, assets amounted to 6.26 billion euros, which represents an increase in net assets by 15.1 percent compared to the third quarter of 2021. When it comes to loans, OTP bank recorded a total amount of almost 4.8 billion euros, which represents an increase of 15.4 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. This retained the first place in the Serbian market with a share of 17.6 percent. Housing loans amount to over one billion euros, with annual growth of 15.5 percent and have a market share of 22.2 percent. A big jump was also recorded in the field of cash loans, where the amount of 1.1 billion euros was reached with a growth of 6.7 percent, which represents 20.1 percent of the market share. A significant increase was also achieved in the segment of business with the economy, where with 2.5 billion euros, a growth of 21 percent was recorded compared to the third quarter of 2021. In this way, OTP banka remains in first place with a 16.8 percent market share in lending to the economy . When it comes to deposits, the Bank achieved excellent results in this area in the previous period, with an annual growth of 11.7 percent and a market share of 11.8 percent. The trend of achieving excellent results continues in all segments of transaction banking, in factoring the Bank achieves a growth of 33 percent in exposure and 13 percent in the volume of financing. In the documentary business, clients recognize the bank as an important partner, which is reflected in the 29 percent increase in exposure at the end of the third quarter compared to the same period last year.

As part of the OTP Group, OTP Leasing Srbija and OTP Osiguranje also operate in Serbia, which also record excellent results. In relation to the same period last year, a record growth of 72 percent was achieved in operational leasing, while in financial leasing, in terms of the amount of financing, a growth of 40 percent was achieved with an increased market share to 20.1 percent. In the first nine months of 2022, OTP Osiguranje achieved a growth in total gross premium of 34 percent compared to the same period last year, while the life insurance market grew by two percent.

Thanks to the presence of OTP Bank in 91 cities with 155 branches and 271 ATMs, a wide range of products and services are available to clients throughout Serbia, as well as efficient service and offers tailored to their specific needs.
