Finance Minister Siniša Mali met on Tuesday with the French business delegation of the Movement of Enterprises of France (Mouvement des Entreprises de France - MEDEF). At the meeting, he stated that the GDP growth in the first quarter of this year was 4.3 percent, and in the second 3.9 percent, and added that Serbia attracted 2.66 billion foreign direct investments (FDI) in the first eight months of this year. , and thereby won a leadership position in the region.

"Unemployment in the second quarter of this year is 8.9 percent, which is a historical minimum, and the public debt is under control and amounts to 55.1 percent, which is far below the level prescribed by Maastricht," said the relevant minister, reports biznis.rs.

Mali informed the French delegation about the macroeconomic results achieved by Serbia, and they discussed economic and economic cooperation between the two countries. He pointed out that the country has created an adequate economic environment, which is suitable for investors, and expressed his satisfaction with the operations of French companies in Serbia.

He reminded that French companies are part of our biggest projects, such as the Belgrade Metro, Nikola Tesla Airport and the construction of a waste processing plant in Vinča. He also said that there is a lot of potential for more intensive cooperation between the two countries, and emphasized that France is one of Serbia's most important economic and political partners.

Christophe Petit, who heads the French delegation, congratulated the minister on the results achieved by Serbia, and stated that French companies in Serbia have good relations with the country's leadership, and that it is important to nurture partnership relations.

The meeting was attended by representatives of numerous French companies, and on that occasion they asked the minister and the team of the Ministry of Finance specific questions about current and potential projects.

The minister congratulated Peti on the position of chairman of the Franco-Serbian business world and once again thanked the delegation for their interest in investing in our country.
