"With this investment, we are strengthening our production network in Europe," said Hans Jürgen Kalmbach, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hansgrohe SE, during the opening ceremony, and added: "This factory is part of our global production strategy, which aims to maintain short and secure supply chains and transport routes. We are pleased to welcome the arrival of our Serbian colleagues to the Hansgrohe family."

At the opening of the factory, President Aleksandar Vučić declared that Hansgrohe is a "Jewel of Valjevo" and thanked the German investors who came to Serbia to stay and participate together in the growth and development of our country.

"The vision of the Hansgrohe company is focused on development and innovation, and that's how they became the world leader in the production of the highest quality equipment for kitchens and bathrooms. The opening of the factory in Valjevo is their biggest investment in the last 120 years, which speaks volumes for its importance. I am glad that Valjevo got an experienced employer and Serbia got a big exporter. Hansgrohe products are found in the world's most prestigious buildings, such as the Burj Khalifa, and now these same products will have the label that they were made in Valjevo."

He added that today in our country, 80,000 employees work for German companies and that Germany is our largest foreign trade partner.

Currently, slightly less than 100 people work at the new location in Valjevo. In the long term, up to 1,000 jobs will be created in Valjevo.

"We looked at locations around the world, and Valjevo has everything we need, including the availability of skilled workers and suppliers." In addition, with the association agreement with the European Union that Serbia has, high international standards for investments are applied, along with the exceptional infrastructure that the city offers. From the new location, we can quickly and efficiently meet the growing demand for our products in Europe," added Frank Semling, Hansgrohe Production Director.

The new Hansgrohe factory was built in the municipality of Valjevo, about 100 kilometers southwest of the capital, Belgrade, on a plot of 130,000 square meters.

It is the most sustainable location within the Hansgrohe Group.

A photovoltaic system on the roof, a plant for combined production of heat and electricity, the use of so-called gray water for toilets, 26-centimeter-thick roof insulation, and triple-glazed windows are just some of the examples that make the building and its use sustainable. This is why Hansgrohe received LEED certification.

Hansgrohe has production locations in Germany, France, the Netherlands, the USA, China, and now also in Serbia. With the brands AXOR and Hansgrohe, the company from the Black Forest is a leading manufacturer in the bathroom and kitchen sectors in terms of innovation, design, and quality. About 5,600 people work for Hansgrohe worldwide.
