FIRST IBM DEVELOPMENT CENTER OPENS IN NOVI SAD

The first IBM development center in Novi Sad opened on Tuesday, where technologies for IBM's needs will be developed.

General Manager of IBM for Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Albania Nikola Polić noted that software would be developed in the company's office in Novi Sad.

“This is of great importance for local IBM, because we are finally opening another office in Serbia, which will deal with very specific technology development. This is important for Serbia, because it shows that it is an excellent place for the arrival of large technology companies. Thanks to this development center, we will be able to provide better services and support to users in the wider region”, Polić pointed out.

“The arrival of IBM in this way is a great signal and speaks of the fact that we are an important destination on the world business map”, said Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić and reminded that IBM in Belgrade had only sold its solutions until then, but that it had never developed technology for its needs, according to the website of the Government of Serbia, ekapija.com reports.

Mayor of Novi Sad Milan Djurić pointed out that the city was recognized as the center of IT industry.

In Novi Sad, we have almost 900 IT companies employing ten thousand people. We want IBM to feel at home in Novi Sad, the mayor said.

At the moment, 38 engineers are employed in the IBM office in Novi Sad, jobs for another 38 are announced, who will be young experts who graduated from the University of Novi Sad.
