The European Union's program for local development, EU PRO Plus, which is implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of European Integration, has published a public call for business infrastructure projects, for which 4.8 million euros have been allocated. The aim of the program is to improve the conditions for investments in production, services and tourism and to create new jobs in the regions of Šumadija and Western Serbia and Southern and Eastern Serbia.

The right to participate, as stated on the EU PRO Plus website, has 99 local governments included in the EU PRO Plus program, which can compete for projects of construction or reconstruction, infrastructural equipment of industrial zones, science and technology parks, business incubators, tourist zones, as well as and technical documentation projects for the purpose of business infrastructure development.

Within the call from the total budget, 3.4 million euros are aimed at supporting the development of industrial zones, science and technology parks, innovation centers or business incubators, while 1 million euros are allocated to support the development of sustainable tourism.

Local governments will also be able to apply for support for the development of technical documentation for the purpose of developing business infrastructure, that is, for the development of projects for building permits, contractor projects and feasibility studies, for which the EU allocated 400,000 euros.

The local self-governments themselves, in proportion to the level of development, should provide funds for co-financing in the amount of 10% of the total value of the project for municipalities from the fourth category, or 15, 20 or 30% for those self-governments belonging to the third, second and first categories.

The public call will be conducted in two phases, so that in the first phase, the concept of the project proposal is submitted, while the second phase entails the submission of a complete application, but only for those applicants whose concept was positively evaluated in the first phase.

More information about this call as well as application documentation is available on the website of the EU PRO Plus program.

The deadline for submitting the concept (first phase) is October 25, 2022.

Registration for info-sessions is exclusively via the online form on the public invitation page.
